Butter is a lubricant commonly used in agricultural machinery maintenance because of its viscosity. Some farm machinery operators use it as an adhesive, but attention should be paid to the following areas:
1. Piston ring
Some agricultural machinery operators apply butter in the ring groove to prevent the piston ring from being misaligned during installation, which poses a great danger. During engine operation, butter forms a gel like substance when heated, which affects the elasticity of piston rings, reduces sealing performance, and generates carbon deposits, exacerbating mechanical wear.
2. Cylinder gasket
Some agricultural machinery operators apply butter on both sides of the cylinder gasket when installing the cylinder, thinking that it can increase the sealing of the cylinder, but the result is exactly the opposite. Because the temperature of the cylinder body rises sharply during the operation of the generator, butter will quickly melt and flow away, creating gaps and causing air leakage in the cylinder body. At the same time, the melting of butter produces carbon deposits, accelerating the deterioration and aging of cylinder gaskets.
3. Speed controller
Some agricultural machinery operators use butter to stick the ball inside the speed controller bracket for easy installation. In this way, after startup, the copper balls are not easily separated by centrifugal force. Once melted into the crankcase, the oil will deteriorate and become unusable.
